Custom GOATgrid
We searched high and low for the perfect functional and cozy fabric. We couldn't find it...so we made it! GOATgrid is a microgrid fleece fabric made from recycled polyester yarn and is lightweight, warm, breathable, and ultra soft. Weighing just 170 g/m², GOATgrid boasts a grid pattern that facilitates and enhances moisture-wicking, breathability, air circulation, and allows for unrestricted movement.

This is a surprisingly good warmth layer! Super lightweight, very soft and cozy, and with its trim/athletic cut it does a good job of not letting drafts of cold air between you and the garment. Seems to also regulate body heat pretty well. The 115 weight version of the fabric is indeed quite thin, so I do have concerns about its long-term durability, but so far after several months it seems to be holding up alright.

It's incredible how warm this jacket is, it is perfect for ski days, overnight snowshoe trips, or sleeping in when backpacking. The thumb holes are great for cold mornings and the zipper makes it easy to layer or vent depending on conditions. I've loved using it so far on a variety of one to six day adventures and I can't wait to use this jacket on my next thru-hike.
